It seems strange that people who are invited to a wedding should
refuse the invitation. But of course, Jesus’ parables are not a reflection of
our life but rather a reflexion on who God is and how we respond. According to
many readings, God loves feasts and wonderful meals offered to whoever wishes
to come ! Jesus’ first miracle was to change water into wine so that a wedding
be not ruined and people may be happy celebrating together. Does that mean that
when Christians show a sad, anxious, stern face to the world instead of a
peaceful and joyful one, they are like those who refuse the master’s invitation
?
Looking forward to seeing you on Saturday,
In Christ’s joy and peace,
Edith
